As a child history always intrigued me. Whether reading the stories in my textbook or listening attentively as heroic deeds were narrated to me and the plight of my culture was brought to the forefront, I always managed to find myself lost. I was lost in the lessons learned via the stories told;longing to experience a monumental moment of greatness. Today, I am no longer a child yet I find myself searching for greatness, attempting to embody what it is to be great, to be legendary, to be historic. Tonight I realized that history is truly being written and I am witnessing it, much like the adults today who were alive to see King speak to see Malcolm speak, maurderers of our time and of the struggle. This history is being made by the Obama family and as it is being made, I promised myself tonight that this blog, the modern day newspaper, will be an active voice in documenting that history. I'll definitely be sure to post the historic speeches and decision for those of you who are caught up in the everyday struggle to survive and may have missed something you wanted to see due to work.

My struggle

I love shoes. In fact I love shoes so much that most would say I have a problem, a serious fettish. It's gotten to the point where I sneak bags into the crib, stash shoes all over my room in hiding places. Yes I have a problem but so what. However I have an even bigger problem in the spectrum of things, narrow heels. As of now I have more kicks then I do heels and it pains me to go to the store and see a fierce pair of heels, try them on and well no go. So all you heel wearers consider yourself lucky that you can buy a pair of heels without a strap to secure your foot. THis is my struggle and I refuse to wear the little pad things that stick to te back of your shoes, those things are wack. It's okay though I'm not gonna discriminate, ya girl Isis can still dream and drool over a hot pair of heels in hopes that their cut a little different and fit me.

I ended the internship I was working at this summer last week and boy did they work my ass before I left.I worked 56 hours last week.
